Paper Camp Loulé Criativo — September 2025
In September 2025, Paper Lab Berlin brought Paper Camp to Loulé Criativo, Portugal, for an intensive one-week gathering. The studio became a shared laboratory of labor, process, and imagination. Artists, researchers, and makers worked side by side, exploring self-topography on paper, experimenting with materials, and tracing the fragile line between idea and form.
This page is dedicated to the Paper Campers — the participants who shaped this moment. Here you will find their artist statements, thoughts, notes, and reflections, alongside fragments of their working processes and outcomes. Each profile offers a glimpse into the personal journeys that unfolded in the studio: experiments in progress, layered works, and images that carry both the labor and the unfinished energy of the camp.
Paper Camp is not only about what is made, but also about the shared time and space, the dialogues, and the collaborative spirit that pushes each of us further in our practice.

Meet Our Paper Campers
Behind every work and experiment at Paper Camp are the people who shaped it. Each camper brought their own background, curiosity, and questions into the studio, turning the week into a living dialogue. Here you can explore their stories, thoughts, and works a collective map of voices that made Paper Camp Loulé what it is.

Marks as whispers of presence
Tracing the echoes of our presence—marks left behind in moments of contact and exchange, whether fleeting or profound. Each interaction, accidental or intentional, carries with it a residue: a gesture repeated, a movement etched into surface or memory. These traces are captured through paper, thread, mark-making and print, weaving them with other materials, allowing the unseen rhythms of encounter to become visible. -
